Everything changes,
I’m not talking about the normal physicals’ life changes. I’m talking about how
objects without life are having to change to keep being usefully.
One of
those objects in my opinion is “BlogSpot” or the same thing but with different
name “blogger” maybe the new name its related with the company who bought BlogSpot,
I’m talking about google.
Why the new
generations don’t know anything about blogger? Why the generation x and the
millennials were the kings and queens of BlogSpot and now the Generations Z
just know turn on the camera and record a 15 sec history where it’s not necessary
to know anything about codes or grammar.
One of the
lines of the human development it’s do more thing in less time, in the past when
you was trying to learn something new or share your knowledge, experience inclusive
your personal life was necessary take more than 30 minutes writing on BlogSpot
your post, you have to add more time if you made the decision to share pictures.
Fortunately, BlogSpot had all the necessary to choose a template and just
write, because if we start to talk about WordPress the history it will be a
little different. But now those 30 minutes are reduced in a 5 minutes video
recorded a cellphone that you can buy for $50 on amazon, a mean, you can share the
same information with more details, with audio or with background music but 99999%
easier.
Facebook, Instagram,
snapchat and a tones of others social network were invented to share your
personal life with the rest of the world, maybe blogger was created with the
same objective but don’t fit anymore in our times.
Today we
live in a world where we need at least 30 hours per day to do everything that
we want to do, for example in one 24 hours we have to work, eat and the same
time we want to do social live, side job to get more money, do some hobby , watch
a movie, share our life and a couple more things, but 24 hours its not enough
to do all those things, that’s why if we want the opportunity to decrease the
time on one of those task, I am 100% that we are going to it.
Blogspot
was not the only one who received the new generation with the left leg, the one
what I really miss is forums, that webpage where someone create a topic and all
the users have to start to give their own opinion about the main topic, in that
time the cellphone company used to charge extra credit for every text that you
sent, not like today, not like today what is easier made a video call to say how much you miss your mom, actually you don’t
need to press the buttons I mean the screen with numbers, you only needs to say
: “Siri/Google, video call with mom by messenger”, just 3 seconds to do what in
the past take you more than 10 sometimes.
Today texting
is free, you don’t need military technology to be connected with the whole world,
the only thing that you need is pay $40 every month and you will get all the
information of the world on your hand but the only problem is, everybody choose
to do easy thing so they forgot how to do “hard” stuffs, the %75 percent of the
teenagers don’t know anything about difficult tasks and if the have to do something
with a high difficulty level they will try to find on YouTube the easy way to
do it, easy and fast.
I think
that blogger still alive because the old generations, or for the people who
like to share information using an old school way. If I say blogger, I will
think in something retro or vintage, but, with style. Not all the people are ready
to use blogger even if they are of the old generations.
The numbers
on an internet traffic analyzer (google trends) says that the number on blogger
start to go down 1 year ago, opposite situation have Instagram where his popularity
started to increase logarithmically a couple years ago.
Another
thing that I miss from blogger/BlogSpot was the opportunity that they can give
to you to be someone else behind your profile, now blogger its related with
google, so in a few step you can know the whole life about who it is behind on the
computer, Facebook and LinkedIn don’t help you to stay in the anonymity, maybe
on twitter you can do it, just maybe.
It was fun remember
how to write and read a post for a blog, I left to do it at least 10 years ago.
Definitely today I am part of that group of people who desire to get more time
to do all the things that you have on mind, gratefully today I finish one of
those important task in my diary life, in the next 4 months I will have 5 hours
more on my life, 5 hours that I will try to convert them in 10, 5 hours to
enjoy with my kids, 5 hours to share my life with those who are on my country,
probably I will not use a blog to do it. I miss those day when I used to get
more free time.
The only
guilty in the blogger crime is the time, even for the software developers, I
think that they do not waste their time to try and resources to improve an old
but almost perfect platform, and I’m pretty sure that the google owners are not
worried about it ( I feel happy to know that Evan Williams and Meg Hourihan
sold their idea just before to start with to age of “people without time”)
Blogger or
Facebook? Blogger or Instagram? Blogger or YouTube? Maybe a good mix of all of
them it’s the right answer for all yours needs.
